It's the last week of Pesta Ubin! With a kampung celebration at Living Fisher Village on 15 Jul (Sat) and Ubin Day on 16 Jul (Sun) as the Grand Finale!

Come visit Pulau Ubin and enjoy lots of Pesta Ubin activities that are free of charge and do NOT require registration. Simply come to Pulau Ubin and join the fun! Don't say Bo Jio!

Travel advisory: From now until the end of Pesta Ubin, expect delays at peak periods at Changi Point Ferry Terminal as the pontoons there are being maintained. During normal weekends, peak periods are around 8.30am to 12noon. From Maritime and Port Authority Port Notice no. 70 of 2017.

How did we have fun before electronic devices? Come and find out! Have fun learning traditional Kampung games such as five stones, hopscotch, chapteh and more!





Join the Nature Society (Singapore) to take a bumboat to Pulau Ubin, an island that never fails to surprise and delight. In our 3-hour walk through the Ubin countryside, we will look out for island specialities including the Oriental Pied Hornbill, Red Junglefowl and the globally-endangered Straw-headed Bulbul.

16 Jul (Sun): FREE guided walk of Ubin mangroves with Restore Ubin Mangroves (R.U.M.) Initiative

FREE walking tour of Ubin's mangroves near Ubin Town. Learn more about an exciting ground-up community effort to restore mangroves at abandoned aquaculture ponds on Pulau Ubin. Suitable for kids and the family. And those who want to learn more about Ubin mangroves and have a glimpse of Ubin kampung life.

16 Jul (Sun): FREE Coastal Cleanup at Jelutong Beach with Sea Shepherd and Singapore Environment Council

Get hands-on experience and help keep our shores clean. You will learn how trash is affecting marine life, as well as how Singapore manages its trash. You will also have fun as we will be on the look out for interesting and weird finds amongst the trash!


16 Jul (Sun): Open House at Teck Seng’s Place with NParks

Drop by Teck Seng's Place, a demonstration house of what a kampung house used to look like. Friendly volunteers and staff will be there to share stories and show you how to have fun kampung style.

15 Jul (Sat): The Beauty of Acrylic Painting by Ho Kah Leong with NParks

A veteran artist, Dr Ho Kah Leong is known for his oil paintings of nature and serene Malay kampongs. He will conduct a short demonstration session and talk about the use of acrylic paint at the Ubin Living Lab.


15 Jul (Sat): FREE Kampong Tour with NParks

Take a walk with us to experience Ubin's wonderful natural and cultural heritage. The 2.2km trail takes about 2 hours to complete. The tour will start at the Ubin-HSBC Volunteer Hub and take you through the spice trees around Jelutong campsite, Butterfly Hill, Pekan Quarry, Sensory Trail Ponds, Kampong House, Old Bin Kiang School site, Toa Pek Kong Temple and end at the Wayang Stage. You will hear about the use of spices in cooking and the interesting history of the different sites. Do you know what the Ubin-HSBC Volunteer Hub was in the 1970s? When was the Toa Pek Kong Temple built? If you would like to know, then this is an excellent introduction to the heritage of the island.

16 Jul (Sun): FREE Butterfly and Bird guided walks at Butterfly Hill with NParks' Community in Nature

Join free guided walks to look at butterflies and birds at Butterfly Hill just an 8-min walk from Ubin Town.

These walks are conducted by NPark’s Community in Nature (CIN) at different timings to discover the butterflies and birds respectively.

16 Jul (Sun): FREE Pedal Ubin with the NUS Toddycats

Pedal Ubin returns for Pesta Ubin 2017! Join us for a ride around Pulau Ubin and explore the Island's landmarks and scenery with volunteer guides from the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum.

We will cycle through the west, past old plantations, kampongs, forest, quarries and mangroves, stop for a coconut or two and listen to the guides as they share with you stories of Ubin’s wildlife, past heritage and present conservation efforts.

16 Jul (Sun): FREE Jalan Jalan di Ubin: A Heritage Tour with SHS

(Tour is now FULLY BOOKED. Click here for details of SHS booth on the same day.)

Experience Ubin from the lens of a resident. This year on Ubin Day, join us as we embark on a special tour curated by Dr Vivienne Wee, our expert anthropologist, who will guide us through the island's little-seen heritage sites - including kampung houses, an old cemetery and a mangrove swamp. At each stop, listen to villagers as they share with us recollections from their past, their stories of their present, and their hopes for a brighter future.

Your participation will go toward enhancing local conservation efforts for Singapore's last surviving island kampung.

15 Jul (Sat): Ubin Night Walk with Strix Wildlife Consultancy

Join this very special Ubin night walk under the umbrella of Strix Wildlife Consultancy led by Subaraj Rajathurai, the foremost nature guide in Singapore. This walk is supported by the Vertebrate Study Group, Nature Society (Singapore). Your guides are experienced and knowledgeable field naturalists, so expect amazing encounters and delightful discoveries during this special walk at Pulau Ubin. As well as fascinating stories about the history and heritage of Pulau Ubin.

14 Jul (Fri): Chek Jawa Intertidal guided tour

During suitable low tides, join the NParks volunteers for an intertidal tour to discover and learn about Chek Jawa's six ecosystems and the diverse array of animals that inhabit these unique habitats. Journey through the Chek Jawa Visitor Centre, 1.1km long boardwalk, Jejawi viewing tower and sandbar with experienced guides. Open to all ages, children under the age of 13 to be under parental/guardian guidance.

Besides visiting Uncle Ah Kok, arrange to visit an Ubin fish farm, go day or night kayaking or take a boat ride in the mangroves. Also, nature mountain biking!
