Join this 30-minute boat tour for a special view of the lush mangroves of Pulau Ubin.

Tuesdays & Thurdays: Floating Fish Farm Tour

Join this 1-hour tour of the floating fish farms around Pulau Ubin.
Did you know there are 60 fish farms around Pulau Ubin?
This is an exclusive opportunity to join Phillip Lin (chairman of Singapore Marine Aquaculture Cooperative and an ex-commercial diver) as he takes you on board his boat and shares openly about his life as a fish farmer.

Monthly: FREE Rustic Reflections Tour with NParks

Starting at the Assembly Area before proceeding to the former Bin Kiang School site. You will then head over to the Sensory Trail pond to learn about the habitat restoration efforts before making stops at Pulau Ubin’s former headman’s house and Kampung Melayu.

Tour participants will also visit a rubber plantation that once supplied Singapore, and possibly the region, with latex, and learn more about the different plants that played a major role in shaping this country’s culinary delights at the Ubin Fruit Orchard before ending the tour at Teck Seng’s Place – a restored Chinese kampung house.


Monthly: FREE Kampong Tour with NParks

Take a walk with us to experience Ubin's wonderful natural and cultural heritage. The 2.2km trail takes about 2 hours to complete. The tour will start at the Ubin-HSBC Volunteer Hub and take you through the spice trees around Jelutong campsite, Butterfly Hill, Pekan Quarry, Sensory Trail Ponds, Kampong House, Old Bin Kiang School site, Toa Pek Kong Temple and end at the Wayang Stage.

You will hear about the use of spices in cooking and the interesting history of the different sites. Do you know what the Ubin-HSBC Volunteer Hub was in the 1970s? When was the Toa Pek Kong Temple built? If you would like to know, then this is an excellent introduction to the heritage of the island.


May-Jul: Chek Jawa Intertidal guided tour

During suitable low tides, join the NParks volunteers for an intertidal tour to discover and learn about Chek Jawa's six ecosystems and the diverse array of animals that inhabits these unique habitats.

Journey through the Chek Jawa Visitor Centre, 1.1km long boardwalk, Jejawi viewing tower and sandbar with experienced guides.

Open to all ages, children under the age of 13 to be under parental/guardian guidance.


Some weekends: Open House at Teck Seng’s Place with NParks

Take a self-guided tour around Teck Seng’s Place and immerse yourself in 1970s Pulau Ubin. Learn about what life was like in a Chinese Kampong House.

Overlooking the Sensory Trail ponds, House 363B has been refurbished and conserved as a model of a Chinese kampung house. Built in the 1970s, the house was owned by Mr Chew Teck Seng who used to operate a provision shop in the village centre known as ‘Teck Seng Provision Shop’. When Mr Chew’s family resettled to mainland Singapore mainland in 2005, the house was returned to the state.


10 May (Wed): Fun at Opening of the Living Fisher Village

Opening Ceremony of the Living Fishing Village! Experience kampung lifestyle with us - bring your family and friends along too!


Phillip Lin and Uncle Ah Kok warmly welcome everyone to their traditional house (aka Living Fisher Village), where you will be rewarded with untold stories of struggle, traditional culture and the original way of kampung life.

Look forward to activities such as ...
  • Playing kampung games and experiencing the kampung lifestyle
  • Dressing up and posing at photo booths
  • Cooking Demonstration: Making traditional kueh ("cake") using charcoal stove
  • Intro to Kayaking: 1-hour trial session for visitors who have never tried kayaking before. Learn techniques on how to paddle with a guide.
  • Exhibition and tour about mangroves with the Restore Ubin Mangroves (R.U.M.) Initiative.

10-14 May: Tua Pek Kong Festival

On the fourth month of the Lunar calendar, when the moon is full, Pulau Ubin bursts with celebrations!
Wayang shows go on during the day and night!
For six days and six nights, the birthday of Tua Pek Kong is honoured with colourful festivities. Ubin Jetty is decked out in colourful flags and lanterns, and Ubin Town is host to lavish rituals. The ancient Wayang Stage at Ubin Town comes alive with traditional opera in glittering costumes as well as more modern vibrant celebrations. Pilgrims and worshippers make their way to Ubin to celebrate.

The Tua Pek Kong Festival is organised by the Pulau Ubin Fo Shan Ting Da Bo Gong Temple.

13 May (Sat): Mural Painting by Yuen Kum Cheong with NParks

Mr Yuen Kum Cheong has completed several community mural painting projects, and specialises in artworks with a natural or cultural heritage theme. Join him as he creates and paints a mural at the Ubin Living Lab!

Experience a fulfilling night as we gather around the campfire to share stories and music, watch an outdoor film, and chill on a hammock while sipping on fresh coconut water.

14 May (Sun): Mangrove Kayaking Adventure with Asian Detours

Specially designed for all adventure seekers, this 4-hour adventure is your perfect introduction to kayaking!
For ages 7 to 75. Friendly for beginners, come as you are because equipment and gear will be provided. Hop on one of our tandem kayaks in a pair or with our guide, and you are set for your adventure!

20 May (Sat): Round Ketam Kayaking Adventure with Asian Detours

Experience a full open sea kayaking on this expedition and be rewarded with natural sightings unlike any other! For ages 7 to 75!
Starting from the southern end of Pulau Ubin, hugging the coast and traveling westward, heading to the highlight of the tour, Ketam Island. Common sightings on this adventure include flocks of grey herons, families of otters, and schools of fishes. Our experienced adventure leaders will be able to point these areas out to you along the route.

20 May (Sat): Ubin Night Walk with Strix Wildlife Consultancy

Join this very special Ubin night walk under the umbrella of Strix Wildlife Consultancy led by Subaraj Rajathurai, the foremost nature guide in Singapore. This walk is supported by the Herpetological Society of Singapore.
